UGANDA: Don Bosco VTC Bombo has held Green club workshop for patrons and green club leaders at Don Bosco VTC Bombo in Uganda trained as part of the School’s Solar Skills and Environmental Education Program. The objective of this three day workshop from 22nd -24th 2019 is to empower the community in general with the necessary environmental protection skills to be able to play an active role in safeguarding nature and ecosystem. Day one activities included the welcome remarks, environmental awareness, waste management while day two focused on renewable energy, innovation and projects in environmental conservation and day three which focuses on climate smart agriculture and the closing session. Among other activities there are Tree planting at Don Bosco VTC Bombo with green club workshop participants and volunteers. The Green Club workshop at Don Bosco VTC Bombo is regularly held under the Solar Skills and Environmental Education Program initiated by Jugend Eine Welt with funding from Austrian Development Cooperation. The aim of green club is to motivate young people to love and protect the environment.
