UGANDA: Trainers for TVET centers complete two-week environmental program training

Training of Trainers from five Don Bosco TVET Centers in Africa of Great Lakes (AGL) have successfully completed two week training which was organized as part of Solar Skills and Environmental Education Program. The training started from September 2, 2019 to 13th September 2019. This was a second Training of Trainers for Don Bosco TVET centers. Participants of the ToT are from Don Bosco VTC Bombo, Don Bosco VTC Palabek, St. Joseph VTC Kamuli and Burundi (Rukago and Buterere). Content of the ToT include safety and health, use of protective devices, solar radiation, use of angle and airmass and metrology, solar modules, solar cells, effects of shading, handling mismatching, solar batteries, charge controllers, inverters, sizing, solar installation, maintenance and trouble shooting of solar system. The ToT was facilitated by Mr. Onyango Fred from Nakawa Vocational Training Institute This project is initiated by Jugend Eine Welt and funded by Austrian Development Cooperation Participants of the ToT noted that the training was beneficial to them and are now more equipped with the right skills and knowledge to train the youth in solar skills. They appreciated our partners for this initiative.
