On Saturday of April 11, 2020, around 2:00 p.m., the Salesian community of the Saint Louis Versiglia-Novitiate of Rango with the help of the Vice-Province of Saint Charles Lwanga, AGL, through the project of helping in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, distributed food aid to 9 employees who work in the Novitiate House.
This charity work was opened with a note from Father FABIEN RUTANGIRA, Director of the Novitiate community.
In his remark, he greeted them and welcomed them.
Father RUTANGIRA also reminded them that the Novitiate in particular and the AGL vice-province in general do not live with them only because of the work as employees but are also close to them in difficult times like today’s situation when the whole world is challenged by the Corona Virus pandemic.
He also told them that the Noviciate is sharing the joy of Easter and sharing this charitable food aid (25 kg of corn flour and 25 kg of beans per each). Before concluding, he reminded them to abide at all times with the preventive measures adopted by the government of Rwanda to stop this pandemic before it weighs too heavily on the country’s health system.
From here, he has emphatically touched that of staying at home which has been applied for their good and to their neighbours, in these days.
While respecting the rules of social distancing, each of these nine workers took the help that was intended for them and said happily: Murakoze (Thank you in English). This was underlined in a distinguished way by one of the workers who spoke on behalf of all, to thank the community of the novitiate and the Vice Province of Africa of the Great Lakes who came to their aid unexpectedly.
Before ending this activity, the Director of the novitiate community requested them to think of sharing also with others who are in need more than them. He ended by wishing them Happy Easter and to remain attentive to the directives of the Government of Rwanda.
