World Environment Day celebrated on June 5 each year was celebrated by the environmental club Don Bosco Buterere on Saturday June 6, 2020.

The theme for this year focuses on the protection of biodiversity. It insists on the commitment against the degradation of nature. Indeed, millions of plants and animals are at risk of extinction due to human activities.

Young people who are the future of the world must have a leading role in decision-making, protecting biodiversity for a better future. It is with this regards that the Don Bosco Buterere environment club has set itself the task of raising community awareness of the importance of protecting the environment.

One of the activities of this World Environment Day for the said club was the planting of fruit trees in the school ground, an activity attended by several members of the club.

After planting trees, members discussed the future of the club and especially the maintenance of these trees planted during the dry season. They agreed on the watering activity until the rainy season.
