AGL Province: From October 10th, 2020, a Team led by the Director of the Salesian Planning and Development Office, Brother Hubert TWAGIRAYEZU is on a working visit to Uganda where it is visiting various Salesian projects in different parts of the country.
The Team will hold talks with the leaders of the Salesian Community in Uganda and visit various projects implemented by the Salesians and discuss ways to improve cooperation with the Planning and Development Office.
PDO Director Brother Hubert Twagirayezu says that “this is a good opportunity to review together the implementation of various projects aimed at improving the lives of the beneficiaries in general and to look at the existing challenges and how they can be addressed”.
The Team composed of PDO Director, PDO Coordinator and Project Officer is expected to spend two weeks in Uganda visiting Salesians’ community in Namugongo, Gulu-Atede, Bombo-Namaliga, Kamuli and Palabek.
The responsibilities of the Planning and Development Office include developing projects, monitoring their implementation and finding and cooperating with donors in terms of funding and reporting as well as conducting advocacy programs whenever there is a special issue that needs to be addressed.
Salesians of Don Bosco in the African Great Lakes (AGL) operate in Uganda, Burundi and Rwanda mainly focusing on youth education and evangelization for both adults and young.
In addition, they work and advocate for the welfare of the beneficiaries, mainly poor and vulnerable groups.
